NFIRS 5.0 Element: ‘Special Study Code’
Definition: The special study value, specific to each study.
Entry: Typically a ‘Local Option’, i.e. for department/state reference only. Coded, but the coding lists usually from the state, they are not in the NFIRS specification. Note: has been used at the federal level, e.g. COVID-19 study.
