NERIS Reporting | NERIS Specification | Fire Department NERIS Identifiers | What is NERIS? | NERIS Compatible |
The NERIS equivalent for the NFIRS Incident Type Code is the NERIS Incident.
Note: NFIRS was typed “as arrived” (replacing “as toned”) meaning if you were toned to an MVC (Motor Vehicle Collision) and arrived at an MVC with injuries, the correct NFIRS would be changed to MVC with injuries.
Further, NERIS has a separate “Dispatched Incident Type” than “Final Incident Type” (hence preserving both types) and NERIS also allows multiple “Final Incident Types”, e.g. MVC and Hazardous Materials, Fuel Spill. NERIS captures and retains more information than NFIRS, in this case.
The NERIS equivalent for the NFIRS Actions Taken Code is the NERIS Actions & Tactics.
The NERIS equivalent for the NFIRS Property Use Code is the NERIS Location Use.
