This week (starting Monday, November 2nd 2020) NFIRS WebTools came back online after a significant modernization upgrade. Services are returning.

If you wish to get started with eNFIRS, here are some good steps to take:

Step #1 Find your Password Reset Email

Locate the password reset email you were likely sent mid-October. It should look something like this.

If you cannot locate your password reset email, or you can but you cannot access your fire department, then you have two choices:

First, attempt an [eNFIRS password reset using your username or email address](posts{{ relref “change-reset-eNFIRS-password.md” }}-reset-enfirs-password/).

Second, contact the point of contact for your state. NFIRS (although it is national) is typically coordinated at the the state (or district) level and state coordinators can help you get an eNFIRS account for your fire department.

Step #2 Login

Visit the eNFIRS Login Page and enter your existing (from NFIRS WebTools days) username and the temporary password.

Note: Microsoft Edge browser is the preferred browser for eNFIRS.

Again, if you cannot remember your username you might be well served to contact your state Point of Contact, however one of the many benefits of eNFIRS are the new Forgot Username and Forgot Password features.

Step #3 Change your Password

Once successfully logged in proceed to change your temporary password for a secure personal one.

Step #4 Checkout the new eNFIRS capabilities

Invest some time in the helpful videos and training materials and/or explore the new tools in incident management for creating incidents, exporting incidents and reporting on incidents.

Additionally, see other Responserack postings on eNFIRS.
