NFIRS WebTools becoming eNFIRS

This week (starting Thursday, October 8th 2020) NFIRS WebTools will be offline for a significant modernization upgrade. Services will be down for the upgrade.

NFIRS was created by in 1974 ( National Fire Prevention and Control Act of 1974 ) and has matured over the years to respond to needs to the current NFIRS 5.0 level. This system upgrade does NOT alter the NFIRS 5.0 specification (although it does enforce some rules more strictly) but it changes the “user interface” (the screens/tools) available. One improvement is the ability to utilize the tools from a mobile device.
