Good data makes for good decisions, and great insights. NFIRS data matters.

Here at Responserack we strive for complete and correct NFIRS 5.0 data each incident, every time. We do allow our departments to determine what they provide, based on the real world constraints of firefighting, however we attempt to guide them within the NFIRS validation rules. If we have generated something that fails to pass a validation rule we’d like to know.

NFIRS Specification

These reference documents are for the NFIRS parts and pieces, as understood by Responserack:

• NFIRS Modules - collections of data (transactions), like the old fashioned paper forms.
• NFIRS Reference - the hierarchy of modules, blocks and elements.
• NFIRS Transactions - groups of elements to make a module.
• NFIRS Elements - individual data fields (within transactions.)
• NFIRS Validation Rules - validation rules.
• NFIRS Fire Departments - fire department identifiers; FDIDs.
